I made this comic a few years ago for my college newspaper fnewsmagazine around the time when Village Voice announced they were dropping comics from their papers.
After reading If Cartoons are so big, why Don’t They Pay? I thought I’d post this comic showing that without those costly comics, Alt Weeklies would have more room for Adult Services, which is obviously the most popular Alt Weekly feature.
The first panel is based on TV commercials that White Castle was airing at the time like this one.
I originally had real looking phone numbers, but had to change them to 555 for print.
